Japanese Thriller 'Birthright' to Get a Hollywood Remake →

The little seen but critically acclaimed Japanese horror thriller Birthright (known in Japan as Saitai) is getting an American remake.

This will be the latest project from All Nippon Entertainment Works (ANEW). This time it is being done in association with the Japanese filmmaker Naoki Hashimoto’s Wilco Co. Ltd and Hollywood filmmakers at Depth of Field.

'Ghost Train' on Track as American Remake of Japanese Horror Movie (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter →

‘In Good Company’ Series From Paul & Chris Weitz Based On Movie Set At CBS - Deadline →

CBS has given a script commitment with penalty to In Good Company, a half-hour hybrid comedy based on Paul Weitz’s 2004 movie, with Weitz on board to co-write and executive produce. His brother, Chris Weitz, also executive produces. Universal TV is producing with Weitz brothers’ Depth of Field banner, which also co-produced the movie with Uni TV sibling Universal Pictures.

CBS Films has set Conviction scribe Pamela Gray to adapt Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel The Husband’s Secret. The label has also hired Depth Of Field’s Chris and Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano to produce. The film is a priority for CBS Films head Terry Press. Published by the Putnam imprint Amy Einhorn Books, The Husband’s Secret has been on the New York Times combined (print and e-book) bestseller list for 51 straight weeks.
